What is Microchanneling?
Microchanneling is the next big thing in non-surgical face treatments for aging & acne scars.
Microchanneling creates microchannels in the skin that stimulate your body’s natural ability to produce collagen and elastin. Microchanneling stimulates the outer layer of the skin to allow for product penetration.
Similar to microneedling, but without downtime, skin irritation, and post-treatment redness. This non-invasive treatment can be done on your lunch break & resume normal activities after.

How does Microchanneling work?
Microchanneling uses a stamper-like device to create microchannels in the skin. We apply an active serum onto the skin and the device microchannels the serum into your skin.
The serum we use contains threads, which have been used in surgery for years and are known for their multitude of benefits for the skin.
Microchanneling with the thread serum reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, large pores, dark spots, and textured skin.

What is in the serum?
The serum contains threads which are PDO (polydioxanone) threads. PDO threads are biodegradable polyester sutures.
PDO threads are a specific type of thread used in thread facelifts and other surgical procedures. PDO threads are used in organ surgeries on children and infants due to their regenerative properties. PDO threads have been used in surgeries since the 1980s and our body naturally breaks down these threads over a 6 month period.
For microchanneling purposes, the threads are pulverized and mixed within a hyaluronic acid solution that dissolves in about 1 month.
As threads dissolve, your collagen begins to strengthen and rebuild around the area where the threads are placed, thus leaving you with younger-looking skin and less scarring.
What is the treatment plan?
It depends on your skin’s specific needs. For most clients, you will need approximately 3-5 treatments spaced out once a month. After the initial series, you will need a microchanneling treatment every 6 months.
However, if you have significant aging or scarring concerns, you may need treatments once a month for up to 6-8 months.
NOTE: Everyone’s skin and aging concerns are different, we focus on your main skin concerns and create a treatment plan specific for you.
What should I expect during and after the treatment?
During the treatment, your skin will get red & feel warm. We are stimulating the skin, opening up the channels in the face, and increasing circulation. This causes redness and a warm sensation, almost like a mild sunburn.
After the treatment, we apply a cooling mask to calm down the skin.
The channels remain open for 90 minutes post-treatment, so it is recommended that you don’t touch your face, wear glasses or sunglasses or a hat, and pull your hair back.
We don’t suggest applying moisturizer or SPF for at least 90 minutes because moisturizer & SPF don’t belong IN the skin and are not necessary when the channels are open.
Your skin may be a bit red for a few hours after the treatment. Meaning, that you will look like you just did a boot camp workout!
When I did my treatment last week, my skin felt like I had a mild sunburn the day of, but it wasn’t red. The next day, my skin felt soft & amazing!
I went to work the next day & no one knew I did anything to my face!
Post Treatment Care
On the day of the treatment, we recommend that you avoid touching your face, as the channels remain open for 90 minutes after the treatment.
We recommend not taking any medications, such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil, which interfere with your skin’s healing process.
The evening of the treament, wash your face with a gentle cleanser & apply a heavier moisturizer.
AVOID any retinol, glycolic or lactic acids, scrubs, or any other strong exfoliants that will dry your skin out for about 5-7 days post treatment.
Wear your SPF daily
You may notice within the first 3 days that your skin feels a bit tight and may be slightly flaky. Continue with your gentle cream-based or oil-based cleanser and heavy moisturizer. Do NOT scrub your skin if it becomes flaky.
How long after will I see the results?
You will notice your skin looks brighter & healthier looking the next day. You will see some minimal changes.
Due to the fact that the threads have to dissolve and the collagen will begin to rebuild in the skin, it will take about 3 weeks to see the full result.

Are there any clients who should not do Microchanneling?
Microchanneling is safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin & rosacea skin types. However, if you are on medication, please talk to your doctor to get approval prior to your appointment.
Microchanneling is not good for:
- Pregnant or Breastfeeding moms
- Skin cancer visible on the face
- Use of Accutane within the past 12 months
- Recent Suntans or Sunburns
- Diabetes or at-risk illnesses
- Pacemakers or internal defibrillators
- Active Cold sores or Herpes Simplex
What is the cost?
We charge $499 per treatment. Microchanneling can be added into your facial or done as a standalone treatment.
