BioRePeel vs. Dermaplaning: Holistic Beauty Meets Medical
🎉 Exciting News!! Skin Deep Esthetics is now a medical spa! 🎉
🌿 Why did we make this change?
Those of you who have been clients for years know that Samantha’s core belief is a holistic approach to skin.
She has always focused on microcurrent and maintaining a healthy skincare routine that gives you beautiful skin without injections or aggressive treatments.
And guess what? Samantha is still dedicated to her holistic approach, ensuring all our clients maintain healthy skin barriers.
🚀 What Prompted this transition?
Due to new state regulations in Illinois, estheticians are now restricted from doing more advanced anti-aging treatments unless they work for a doctor or in a medical spa setting.
As Skin Deep Esthetics continues to grow, transitioning to a medical spa would allow us the best options for advanced anti-aging solutions.
We now have a medical director who can oversee us and allow us to provide anti-aging treatments that are not aggressive or damage your skin’s barrier.
🌸 BioRePeel vs. Dermaplaning: Which One is Right for You?
When it comes to rejuvenating your skin, both BioRePeel and Dermaplaning offer incredible benefits, but they work in different ways.
🌟 BioRePeel: This chemical peel is non-invasive, with no burning, post-redness, or peeling involved. It’s packed with TCA, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), vitamins, and amino acids, suitable for all skin types. Regular treatments can exfoliate the skin, smooth fine lines, even skin tone, shrink pores, reduce acne scars, and smooth out textured skin.
🌟 Dermaplaning: This treatment uses a scalpel to exfoliate your skin and remove peach fuzz, leaving your skin baby soft. The benefits include enhanced product penetration, smoother makeup application, and a radiant glow. Plus, it stimulates cell turnover, combating fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation.
Our Top 2 Treatments: Dermaplaning vs. Chemical Peels
🍊Chemical Peels
Our Chemical Peel, the BioRePeel, is one of the most requested peels in our industry!
It’s non-invasive, with no burning, post-redness, or peeling involved, making it safe year-round with no downtime.
The BioRePeel contains TCA, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), vitamins, and amino acids (aka peptides) suitable for all skin types.
We recommend a series of 4-6 peels every 7 days. Regular peels can exfoliate the skin, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, even skin tone, shrink pores, reduce acne scarring, and smooth out textured skin.
This peel packs a powerful punch but doesn’t leave the skin feeling like you had a peel.
🪒 Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning uses a scalpel to exfoliate the skin and remove peach fuzz, leaving your skin baby-soft.
The benefits?
Enhanced product penetration, easier makeup application, and smoother skin leaving you with a radiant glow. Plus, it stimulates cell turnover, combating fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation.
The # 1 question we get asked is, “Will my facial hairs grow back darker?”Â
NOPE!
Only hormones affect the darkness or thickness of facial hairs.Â
Dermaplaning doesn’t shave the face, it uses a technique to remove dead skin cells off the skin’s surface while also getting rid of the facial hairs. These facial hairs are called Vellus hairs, aka peach fuzz, which is a type of hair that grows all over the entire body. Vellus hairs are fine, light-colored, and short. And why you see them in your car when the sun is shining.Â
Hormonal shifts, such as menopause, can cause facial hair to grow. During menopause, male hormones dominate the body and stimulate hair growth.
Dermaplane exfoliates the top layers of the skin, stimulating the skin to go through a cell renewal process, and forcing the skin cells to turn over quickly.
🌟 Why is this important?
Cell turnover slows down when we age. In kids and young adults, cells turnover every 28 days, as we age that increases and can be as long as 45-60 days or longer especially after you hit menopause!
Monthly dermaplane treatments turn your cells over monthly.
đź“ť One thing to note
Dermaplane is great for all skin types, however, we avoid dermaplane treatments on our melasma clients. The friction can heat the skin, possibly darkening those areas.
